Your peace of mind is our most important goal

April 2014

I have known Ms Pullella of Estate Risk Solutions since 2006 when I sought a review of my income protection and life insurance cover.  Ms Pullella provided me with a thorough and considerate analysis of my situation which enabled me to obtain cover appropriate to my lifestyle and income level.  I was impressed with Ms Pullella’s proactive approach to her work and her ability to explain concepts clearly and accurately. She is an excellent communicator and has exceptional interpersonal skills.

More recently, Ms Pullella was instrumental in assisting me with making a claim on my income protection policy.  Until speaking to Ms Pullella, I had not considered the possibility of lodging a claim, due to the nature of my circumstances at that time.  However Ms Pullella took note of my situation and suggested that a claim may be possible.  She then liaised with the insurer on my behalf and established that an application would be an appropriate course of action.

Again, I was deeply impressed with the professional and competent manner in which Ms Pullella case managed my application.  She assisted me in working through the documentation involved and was a highly effective broker between the insurer and myself.  Ms Pullella followed up on all of my inquiries about the process and was thorough and diligent in her approach to all parties involved.

As a consequence of Ms Pullella’s vast knowledge of insurance products and claims processes and her excellent interpersonal and mediation skills, I was pleased to receive a significant payment at a time in my life when this was most needed.  I attribute this positive outcome entirely to Ms Pullella’s skillful intervention and professional advice and guidance. I trust Ms Pullella implicitly because of her sense of ethics, her professional and conscientious approach to her work, and her sincere commitment to the welfare of her clients.

I recommend Ms Pullella of Estate Risk Solutions as strongly as possible.

18 months ago I met with Connie to discuss personal insurances. She looked at our situation and advised us to take out Critical Illness, Life and Income Protection policies. I was extremely hesitant to accept the policies. All that I could see at the time was the total amount we were paying out in premiums. We were both young, healthy adults who had no pressing health concerns. It all seemed like a complete waste of money!

In December 2010, I made an appointment to see the doctor. I had lost weight fairly rapidly and had assumed that I would leave the doctor’s with instructions to simply slow down. After all, like is extremely hectic for any working mother! The doctor suggested that I have a CT scan and two days later, I received a call to tell me I had bowel cancer. I am a healthy 43 year old female who has never smoked, rarely drunk and was basically never sick! I couldn’t believe it!

I have 3 children, aged 7, 11 and 13, and I am extremely grateful that we took Connie’s advice and accepted the policies. Financially we will be fine and that has profoundly helped to relieve the burden of having my entire world turned upside down! David, my husband, has taken many days off work and even though he has 4 weeks of carers leave owing to him, we know that paid leave is abruptly coming to an end. Days off here and there quickly add up! Thankfully, I know that the insurance pay out means that we won’t have to make the decision down the track as to whether David will to to work, sit with me at the hospital or take care of the children. Family is the ONLY priority we need to worry about!

I have just completed my pre-operative treatment – 6 weeks of combined radiotherapy and chemotherapy. I am about to embark on another six week block of chemotherapy and then they will operate. The road ahead is going to be extremely long, but at least we know that the mortgage will continue to be paid, the household and family financial demands will be met and the never ending medical bills will be addressed. We have private insurance; but are continually surprised by what that doesn’t cover us for. Chemotherapy is covered by private insurance, but radiation isn’t??? Our out of pocket expenses for radiation alone will be $5000.00.

I NEVER thought  that I would be an advocate for personal insurances. How wrong I was and how very grateful I now am to Connie for convincing us that personal insurance was a good idea!
